CAPTAIN JAMES NEALE

Captain James Neale and his wife Anne Maria Gil resided in Portugal and Spain for several years as Neale worked for both the King and Lord Baltimore on special orders. All of their children were born in Spain with the exception of Jane who was born in Charles County, Maryland upon their return to their home.  All other children: Henrietta Maria, James, Dorothy and Anthony Neale were born in Spain due to the nature of their father's job.  In 1666, he petitioned for and obtained naturalization of his children, Henrietta Maria, James, Dorothy and Anthony Neale, born of Anne his wife during the time of his abode in foreign parts.

At the end of the 16th century Capt. James Neale lived near the Globe Theater, where William Shakespeare showcased his plays. 

Came to America on a mission for King Charles I of England. 1635 - Maryland

Capt. James Neale was one of the first settlers in the Maryland Colony and lived in Maryland in 1684.
