JACOB MARION (JINGO JAKE) MARCUM

When Jacob Marion (Jingo Jake) Marcum was born on February 24, 1780, in Washington, Virginia, his father, Josiah, was 20 and his mother, Edie McDonald , was 20. He married Rachel Martin on July 18, 1797, in Lee, Virginia when he was 17 years old . They had one child during their marriage. He died on January 29, 1872, in Wayne, West Virginia, at the impressive age of 91.

He was involved in the War of 1812 and was a preacher of the Gospel.
