GEORGE WILLIAM (BILLY) MOON
When George William "Billy" Moon was born in April 1840 in Preston, West Virginia, his father, George, was 41 and his mother, Hannah, was 34. He married Martha Ellen Riley and they had eight children together when he was 27 years old. He then married Mary Etta Simmons on May 29, 1902, in Grafton, West Virginia. He died in 1920 in his hometown at the age of 80, and was buried in Newburg, West Virginia.
George William "Billy" Moon served in the military on December 9, 1861, when he was 21 years old.
